Implementation of evidence-based programs developed by Positive Action, Inc. that will be funded by the US Department of Justice
TWIN FALLS, Idaho, February 23, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The social and emotional learning (SEL) program, Positive Action, developed by Positive Action, Inc. (“PAI”), the leading education and technology company for evidence-based SEL programs , will be implemented in some philadelphia cream area schools by the Youth Violence Outreach Initiative of the Anti-Violence Partnership of philadelphia cream (AVP), funded by approx. $1 million in grants from the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) of the United States Department of Justice.

AVP will provide four full-time violence prevention counselors to implement the affirmative action program in selected philadelphia cream area schools, impacting the lives of 3,500 K-12 children, and working with school administrators, including principals, climate officers and police officers to support and strengthen the program. AVP will purchase materials and training from Positive Action, including school curricula and climate tools (or materials).

Funding will be provided through the School Violence Prevention (STOP) Grant Program for BJA students, teachers and officers. The STOP School Violence Grant Program is designed to make K-12 schools safer by providing students and teachers with the tools they need to recognize, respond quickly to, and help prevent acts of violence. and ensuring a positive school climate. The BJA was established in 1984 to reduce violent crime, create safer communities and reform our nation’s criminal justice system.
